Hokes Bluff beats Cleburne County 44-40 in sub-regional

HOKES BLUFF — Class 4A, No. 4 Hokes Bluff clinched a spot in the Northeast Region tournament with a 44-40 win over Cleburne County in boys high school sub-regional play Friday.

The Eagles (27-5) got the win despite hitting just 7 of 21 shots from the free throw line.

Isaac Haas paced Hokes Bluff with 16 points. Kaden Moore scored 12 points. Brack Shields contributed seven points.

Max Pritchard scored 20 points for Cleburne County.

The Eagles open regional play against Madison County at Pete Mathews Coliseum on the campus of Jacksonville State at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
