Gadsden City's Bishop signs with Shelton State

Gadsden City's Matthew Bishop signed a scholarship Monday to play baseball for Shelton State Community College. Gadsden City athlete Matthew Bishop signed a scholarship Monday to play baseball at Shelton State Community College.
Bishop batted .421 as a junior. The 6-foot-4, 225 pound catcher bats and throws right handed. He was an Alabama Sports Writers Association All-State Class 6A honorable mention selection at catcher in 2013, and was an All-Area, 6A honorable mention utility player his junior year. Additionally, he made the final cut for the East/West All Stars.
Bishop also held offers from Wallace State and Snead State community colleges.
