GLENCOE — Southside won the Glencoe High School Invitational boys high school golf tournament at Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail at Silver Lakes on Wednesday.

The Panthers shot 314 to come away with the victory. They edged Westbrook Christian, which shot 320.

Ardmore came in third place at 326, while Glencoe and Boaz tied for fourth place at 331.

The low medalist was Ardmore’s Lee Hodges, who shot a 72. He defeated Southside’s Chris Leonhardt, who also carded a 72, on the second hole of a playoff on the Heartbreaker course.

Both players scored a par on the No. 9 hole, leading to them playing the hole again.

Leonhardt three-putted for bogey while Hodges collected a par to get the victory. Hodges sat at 4 under after 10 holes until a storm delay. After play resumed, he struggled and shot 4 over on the last eight holes.

Leonhardt was steadier, shooting even par on both the front and back nines.

Westbrook’s J.H. Catanzaro came in third with a 74.

Pinson Valley’s Tyler Burckhard finsihed fourth by shooting 75.

Jase Proctor of Boaz rounded out the top five individuals. He put up a score of 76.

Pinson Valley’s Conner Sullivan had a hole-in-one on the No. 5 hole on the Heartbreaker course.
