Glencoe defeats Hokes Bluff


GLENCOE — Glencoe improved to 6-0 on the season with a 13-3, six-inning win over Hokes Bluff in high school softball Tuesday.

Jessica Rathje was the winning pitcher. She went all six innings, allowing eight hits while striking out six and walking one. She also had two hits and two RBI.

Sally Tinker had two hits and four RBI for the Yellow Jackets. Danielle Wilson accounted for two hits and two RBI. Jamie McGuire totaled one hit, one RBI and two walks. Jordan Sims had one hit and two walks. Maddie Griggers belted two hits. Chandler Harden chipped in one hit. Mallory Belyeu took the loss for the Eagles. Carlie Shields hit a two-run home run for Hokes Bluff.

Glencoe hosts Etowah on Thursday.
