Troup, Southside girls knock off Glencoe

SOUTHSIDE — Southside broke open a close game in the third quarter and got a big game from Haley Troup to knock off county rival Glencoe 61-43 in high school girls basketball Monday night.

Clinging to a 24-22 lead at halftime, Southside (2-1) outscored Glencoe (2-2) 21-13 in the third quarter and 37-21 in the second half to secure the win.

Troup, an eighth grader, scored a game-high 15 points to go along with six assists and five rebounds. Karri McKissack scored 13 points and Savannah Thomas added nine points and four rebounds. Sydney Death and Molly Tucker both scored five points, with Death getting five rebounds and Tucker adding four boards.
